Wallpaper Series

This project, conceived of in the process of house hunting, was a collaboration with fellow artist Alison Brashaw. The imagery used was taken from photographs recorded on location while viewing available properties. After reviewing many photos (and properties) we chose four images for their simultaneous abstract and nostalgic resonance. As a unifying theme we used the same flocked wallpaper to print the background for each piece in this series. The foreground images are of a hose, a gate, a chandelier, and a shower curtain. For us, each image came to represent the bits and pieces of people’s lives that are left behind when they move on.
